Ubuntu Girls are teams of young women identify a problem, enforce algorithmic thinking and emphasise the societal impact of information and technology. It also teaches girls life skills such as how to identify a problem, design and test a solution, collaborate with a team, and communicate to different audiences. The goal of Ubuntu Girls is to establish school level Ubuntu Girls clubs. Since the event is conducted annually, students and mentors/teachers will be recruited from these Ubuntu clubs. This approach will ensure the development of a critical mass of tech students and teachers making the program sustainability.
